Rome- Italy sent today to the European Commission the request for payment of the sixth installment of the new National Recovery and Resilience Plan, amounting to 8.5 billion euros, was sent by Italy today to the European Commission, the Italian Government said in a statement.
The formal request submitted by Italy follows the work of the June 24 Steering Committee Chaired by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to verify the achievement of the 37 related targets. “The request confirms the positive work of the government and the primacy of Italy, which ranks first in Europe in terms of objectives achieved,” the Prime Minister’s Office said in a note. “In addition to the numerous investments included in the sixth installment, there is also the launch of important reforms, including measures dedicated to people with disabilities and the dependent elderly. All this demonstrates that behind the great works of the NRRP, there always continue to be people: the elderly, large families, and the disabled, with their frailties and all their difficulties, to whom the government will never turn its back. We must all work hard until the last reform comes into effect and the last work of the Italy Plan is tested. No one must be left behind,” she concludes.
