Brussels – The jewelry world remains impervious to the crisis affecting other European manufacturing sectors. According to data released today (Feb. 14) by Eurostat, the value of total jewelry production in the European Union reached 4,363 million euros in 2023, up 1 percent from 4,321 million euros in 2022.
Italy is still the leading producer among the 27 member countries, with a production value of 1,559 million euros in 2023, accounting for 36 percent of the EU total. France follows, with a 33 percent share and a value of 1,444 million euros. Rome and Paris comprise nearly 70 percent of the old continent’s total production. Germany, which ranks third among European countries, stops at a production value of 507 million euros, 12 percent of the EU’s total.

Compared to 2022, the most significant relative increases in the value of jewelry production were recorded in Croatia (+26 percent), the Czech Republic (+25 percent), and Ireland (+20 percent). In contrast, the sharpest declines were in Lithuania, where production fell by 36 percent, Latvia (-16 percent), and Italy.
