Brussels – European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is the winner of the 75th edition of the Charlemagne Prize, the award given to the person who most distinguishes himself or herself for his or her efforts in support of European integration. The Society’s board of directors said in a press release that “The European Commission, under the leadership of Ursula von der Leyen, has played a decisive role in ensuring that the EU is able to face crises of historic proportions with unity and success.” The award will be presented in the coming months.
