Brussels – Italy has submitted to the European Commission the request to pay the seventh instalment of the National Recovery Plan (NRRP), formally filing the application aimed at the provision of €18.3 billion in Brussels. Among the objectives of the seventh instalment, as communicated in a note by the prime minister’s office, are investments in constructing electricity transmission infrastructure, upgrading the fleet of zero-emission buses and trains for regional transport, metropolitan nodes, and major national links. Also planned are the redevelopment of many railway stations, cybersecurity measures, the activation of 480 Territorial Operations Centers (COT) to strengthen public health performance, investments in better management of water resources, and the awarding 55 thousand scholarships to deserving underprivileged students for access to university.
