Brussels – Antigua and Barbuda is no longer on the EU blacklist regarding tax cooperation. The Ecofin Council, meeting in Luxembourg, decided to review the jurisdictions that do not offer information or cooperate in the fight against tax evasion. Following the decision, 11 countries remain on the European blacklist, namely: American Samoa, Anguilla, Fiji, Guam, Palau, Panama, Russia, Samoa, Trinidad and Tobago, the US Virgin Islands, and Vanuatu.
Antigua and Barbuda were added to the list of non-cooperative jurisdictions in October 2023. A year later, the Caribbean country made commitments that convinced the 27 member states to normalize relations.
