Brussels – The European Commission announced today (Feb. 21) that it has raised another 7 billion euros in EU bonds in its second syndicated transaction for 2024. The Commission has now issued approximately €24 billion of its €75 billion funding target for the first half of 2024. “The proceeds of the transaction will be used to finance EU policy programs,” the Commission said in a statement.
The transaction concerned a new, single-tranche €7 billion EU-Bond due on December 4, 2034. The 10-year bond came at a re-offer yield of 3.028%, equivalent to a price of 99.754. Bids received amounted to €67 billion, resulting in an oversubscription rate of over 9 times.
