They keep on holding off, blaming each other for the failed attempts of union, then they try again. The soap opera featuring the 5 Stars Movement and Greens continues. After Grillo’s call for dialogue, declined by the ecologists, now it’s time for the Greens to say they are open to possible cooperation. It’s all up to the online referendum to be held this week, in which the 5SM supporters (and registered to Grillo’s website) will decide the future collocation of the Movement into the Parliament. The Co-President of Greens, Rebecca Harms, issued a statement dealing with this possible alliance.
“f the referendum on the positioning of the elected members of the 5 Stars Movement at the European Parliament goes in the direction of the Greens we will be opened for a dialogue with the Movement,” wrote Harms. The outcome is then very close, we only need to wait for the referendum results to be published online on Beppe Grillo’s blog. In the meantime, 5SM MEPs arrived in Brussels earlier this week, and reiterated that a collaboration with the Greens would be appreciated. “We are an environmentalist and ecologist movement,” said the head of the delegation, Ignazio Corrao. Let’s wait and see whether the registered supporters agree with him.
