The Prime Minister replied to the European Commission during a congress at the Italian Lower House. “Keep the tradition, the root of the Union dating back to Spinelli’s dream, the United States of Europe”
Italy will deliver its European commitments, yet Europe cannot be composed of “constraints” only. The Italian Prime Minister Renzi spoke during a seminar on Europe held at the Italian Chamber of Deputies, in reply to the considerations expressed by the European Commission on the reforms proposed during the last Council of Ministers.
“The Italian Government will fulfil all its commitments with the Union, yet the biggest commitment we have with Europe is to maintain its long-time tradition, its root, dating back to Spinelli’s dream, the United States of Europe.” Furthermore, “Europe shall be the Europe of citizens, of hopes, not of constraints only. And to make this happen, we all have to do our part,” added Renzi.
