The creation of the symbol will be decided by a contest of the Education Ministry. Results and presentation by the end of February
Italy is still working on the creation of the logo for its Presidency of the Council, and will present it by the end of February. Works are in progress, and it’s difficult to get previews. This is because of the choice made by the Italian Cabinet to open a contest with the Education Ministry (MIUR) instead of asking graphic and communication experts or agencies to realise the symbol. Students will hence challenge for the most original idea to be used as the Italian presidency logo from July to December.
Each school grade will participate in the contest – and this will be a perfect occasion to approach the European Union through ‘special classes’. The last drawings are arriving at MIUR these days, and the choice of the winning one will be made shortly. The presentation of the logo will take place in Rome, and the winning class will be offered a trip to Brussels for discovering the European Union and its capital.
