Bruxelles – Nel terzo quadrimestre del 2015 l’occupazione nell’Area dell’euro è cresciuta dello 0,3% rispetto al trimestre precedente. Nell’Ue a 28 la crescita è stata dello 0,4%. Rispetto ad un anno fa l’aumento è stato dell’1,1% in tutte e due le zone.

The number of persons employed increased by 0.3% in the euro area (EA19) and by 0.4% in the EU28 in the third quarter of 2015 compared with the previous quarter, according to national accounts estimates published by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. In the second quarter of 2015, employment increased by 0.4% in the euro area and by 0.3% in the EU28. These figures are seasonally adjusted. Compared with the same quarter of the previous year, employment increased by 1.1% in both the euro area and the EU28 in the third quarter of 2015 (after +1.0% in both zones in the second quarter of 2015). Eurostat estimates that, in the third quarter of 2015, 229.8 million men and women were employed in the EU28, of which 151.5 million were in the euro area. These figures are seasonally adjusted.
Employment growth in Member States
Among Member States for which data are available, Estonia (+2.1%), Hungary (+0.8%), Ireland, Spain, Luxembourg and the United Kingdom (all +0.6%) recorded the highest increases in the third quarter of 2015 compared with the previous quarter. Decreases were recorded in Croatia (-0.6%), Portugal (-0.5%) and Malta (-0.3%).
