Big parties registered increasing approval, minor political forces are struggling, and the will of abstention is getting stronger. This is the picture given by the latest poll realized by EMG for the La7 newscast. According to data, the Democratic Party is consolidating its position, increasing its approval share in the voting intentions, up to 33.6 percent (+ 0.5 percent from April). The Five Stars Movement saw an increase in the approvals too, 24.6 percent against 19.8 percent for Forza Italia, Berlusconi’s party, still increasing the rate (and getting closer to the 20 percent desired by the former Prime Minister).
At 4,9 percent, that is over the minimum threshold, Nuovo Centro Destra and Northern League, while Fratelli D’Italia is fluctuating over the 4 percent barrier.
According to these projections, both L’Altra Europa con Tsipras (3.6 percent), Scelta Europea – ALDE (2,4 percent), IDV (0.9 percent) and Green Italia (0.7 percent) would be left out of the Parliament.
The astonishing result comes from the abstention aspect: according to EMG data, more than a third of Italians is not going to cast a ballot: about 35.2 percent, increasing by 1.1 percent from the April data.
