The Democratic Party is first in the voting intentions poll for the forthcoming European Parliament elections. According to an IPSOS poll for the Corriere della Sera, the DP is now first with 35 percent of the preferences. Then the Beppe Grillo 5SM, with 21.4 percent of votes and then – just third – Berlusconi’s Forza Italia with 19.6 percent. The fourth political force according to the poll would be the alliance between the Nuovo Centro Destra (New Centre-Right) and UDC (Union of the Centre) with 6.4 percent of votes. The last party to exceed the 4 percent threshold would be the Northern League at 4.9 percent. The Other Europe, led by Tsipras, is in free fall: at its creation the list had more than 7 percent of the preferences and now is attested at a mere 2.9 percent.
